This page describes the app, its purchase model, support and important limits. It is not a separate end-user licence agreement and is not accepted as an additional agreement merely by downloading or using the app.

The Apple Standard EULA applies to the licensing of the app obtained through the Apple App Store. The applicable Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions apply to the App Store account, purchase, payment and refunds. Mandatory statutory consumer rights and rights in respect of defects remain unaffected.

1. Provider and support

The provider of the app and the contact for app content, maintenance and support is:

Joel Puta
Landgrafenstieg 5
07743 Jena
Germany
Email: joel.puta@icloud.com
Telephone: +49 151 29104892

Apple is not responsible for maintenance or support of the app. Apple provides its own contact and self-service channels for App Store purchases, payments and refunds.

2. Intended purpose

Exercise Snack is a lifestyle, fitness and wellbeing app for adults. It is intended exclusively to

The app is not intended to diagnose, predict, prevent, monitor, treat or alleviate illnesses or injuries. It is not a medical device or an emergency system and is not a substitute for examination or advice from a medical professional. Do not use an app result as the basis for a medical decision.

3. Features

The features include:

Features and displays may change through app or operating system updates. Where required by law, necessary updates, in particular security and compatibility updates, will be provided and communicated.

4. One-off purchase

Exercise Snack is offered as a one-off purchase. There is currently no subscription and no in-app purchases. The price shown in the relevant national App Store, including the taxes displayed there, applies. Prices may therefore vary by storefront and currency, particularly in Switzerland.

Apple processes purchases and payments through the Apple Account. The provider does not receive complete payment details. Refunds are requested through Apple's designated procedures; statutory rights remain unaffected.

5. Optional permissions

The app generally remains usable without HealthKit, camera or notification permissions. Only features that technically depend on a declined permission are unavailable:

You can change permissions in iOS or the Health app. Switching off a feature or resetting the app does not automatically revoke an iOS system permission.

6. Measurement and reference limits

60-second sit-to-stand

The app's comparison is based on published reference values for a one-minute sit-to-stand test. The underlying cross-sectional study examined adults in Switzerland aged 20 to 79. The app must not derive a reference comparison from it for people outside this age range. If the source does not contain a suitable comparison group for a profile entry, the app also does not claim a corresponding group-specific comparison.

The display uses the original five-year age groups and the published reference points P25, median/P50 and P75. Any additional percentile figure shown is the app's own linear estimate between P2.5, P25, P50, P75 and P97.5; outside this range, only “< 2.5” or “> 97.5” is shown. It is not a published percentile model and is not an individual classification. Chair height, full contact with the seat, arm position and counting method may differ from the study protocol and limit comparability.

Results depend, among other things, on how you feel that day, how the test is performed, the chair, footwear, floor surface, motivation and health status. They provide sports science information for orientation; they are not an individual normal value or a medical finding.

Heart rate and recovery

The camera feature estimates heart rate from optical changes at the finger. It is susceptible to disruption in everyday conditions and is not a validated or certified medical measurement. Apple Watch values may also vary depending on fit, movement and surroundings. The app does not detect heart rhythm disorders or monitor illness. Heart rate recovery is shown only as your own raw value and personal history; the app uses no population-based threshold or result label for it. If you have symptoms, how you feel matters, not the app result.

7. Data, export and reset

Under the intended technical design, app data is stored locally on the device. A CSV export initiated by you includes the data fields implemented for export; you choose the destination using the iOS share sheet.

The app reset deletes the data stored locally in Exercise Snack and internal settings. It

You also manage Health entries and permissions in Apple Health or iOS Settings. Further details are in the privacy policy.

8. Safety

Follow the health and safety notice before each use. Exercise only in a safe environment and stop if you experience pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, a feeling that you may faint or other symptoms. In an emergency, call the local emergency service immediately; the app is not designed for emergencies.

9. Scientific sources and rights

Scientific publications are cited and linked bibliographically. For the sit-to-stand comparison, the app uses numerical reference values from the cited publication; figures, full texts and third-party passages are not reproduced. The citation does not indicate any collaboration with the authors or publishers, nor any recommendation or validation of the app by them.

Exercise Snack does not apply the results of individual studies to individual cases without review. In particular, the app procedure, duration of use, setting and user group may differ from the study protocol in question.
